Sharks Snap Wild’s Winning Streak

Two second period power play goals from Patrick Marleau were all the San Jose Sharks needed to hand the visiting Minnesota Wild their first loss in six games. After Marleau scored the games first two games, the Sharks took a 3-0 lead into the second intermission and held on for a 3-1 win in a hard-fought game between teams that swapped some players this offseason.
Dany Heatley and Devin Setoguchi combined for one shot in their first game back in San Jose since being dealt to the Wild before the season for Brent Burns and Martin Havlat. Playing well for their new teammates in their first game against their old team was a motivator for the Sharks.
