Wimbledon Final Odds Preview and Tips

The Wimbledon final odds have Rafael Nadal as favourite to keep the title, even though he, more than anyone , has suffered at the hands of Novak Djokovic this year.

Opinions seem split on who will walk away with the title, even though Djokovic is guaranteed the number one slot whatever happens.

8/13 Rafael Nadal v 11/8 Novak Djokovic

Even though this final may start in the middle of the afternoon we suggest you go put the cat out at the start, as these two might well still be going by the time darkness falls. Both have the most exceptional ability to conjure up testing shots from difficult positions and seemingly close to inexhabustable supplies of physical and mental stamina. Neither is likely to go crazy on a serve and volley fest, just look to grind out points from the back of the court.

What has happeed this year is that Djokovic has found patterns and methods to take Nadal out of his comfort zone, and at first glance there is no immediate reason why Nadal should be able to change this pattern. Hes not shown any signs of undoing Djokovic on his favoured clay surface. Some experts and current players do think Djokovic can cause an upset here, with Indian Somdev Devvarman, another wall style opponent on the ATP Tour, baking the Serb to win in four sets.

The main difference between thse three set finals is the extra length. Nadal seems to excel over the five set format rather than the shorter three set finals where Djokovic has the edge and has won all their meeting in the Grand Slam events. It might be the extra stamina that ultimately makes the difference.

Nadal may well drop the first set, but we expect him to come through. We like the 9/2 with Betfred on Nadal to win in 5 sets. You can use our link to claim a free £50 bet!
