Scottish Premier League Odds Preview and Tips
The Scottish Premier League Odds have Celtic as title favourites to reclaim the SPL crown from their Glasgow neighbours.
There is, as ever, no two horse race, quite as closed as this one.
4/5 Celtic, Evens Rangers, 66/1 Hearts, 150/1 Dundee United, 500/1 Bar
With the departure of Walter Smith, both Celtic and Rangers are left with relatively youthful managers taking charge in the shape of Neil Lennon and Ally McCoist. McCoist has spent plenty of time learning from Walter Smith, but this is his first season in charge, so it might be asking a little too much not to expect the odd mistake here and there.
Neither side has gone crazy in the transfer market and this could mean serious problems for Rangers, who had a fairly small squad last season, especially with the departure of Kenny Miller half-way through to Bursaspor. Hes expected to move from Cardiff. David Weir may also have to slow down at some point. Midfielder Juan Manuel Ortiz, from Almeria, is the only new arrival. As usual, the lack of squad depth could show later on in the season, when we assume, they will be fighting on multiple fronts.
Celtic have been marginally busier, but their signings are not earth shattering. They have picked up two good quality Championship defenders in Adam Matthews of Cardiff and Nottingham Forests Kelvin Wilson, along with promising Ghanaian Victor Wanyama from Beerschot. Their points total under Neil Lennon last year would have seen good enough to win the title in most seasons, just not last year.
Its impossible to see any other team making a significant impact, with Hearts and Dundee United looking the most likely to battle it out for third.
All signs really point to Cetic and well back them at 4/5 with Stan James, even though we would have done similar a year ago! Use our link and claim a free £25 bet when you back Celtic.
